Is it normal for my new goldfish to not be moving much?
K so i just got this pompom goldfish from the pet store, and he was moving around a lot more at the store and in the bag, but when i put him in the tank he just kinda… stopped moving lol. he’s not dead, he’ll move every now and then and go lie down somewhere else on the gravel, but he doesn’t move more than an inch or two away from the gravel. he isn’t having problems with balance as far as i can tell.. what should i do?
-a put a bit of food in his tank, but not a lot. he hasn’t touched it, but i know that’s to be expected.
-He was in the bag for a little over an hour because i had to take the bus home
-it was kind of cold waiting outside for the bus, but i had the bag inside my jacket, and it didn’t get that cold
any tips on waht i can do to help and any ideas as to what’s wrong with him are greatly appreciated

As long as your tank is big enough (20 gallons for 1 goldfish, 10 extra gallons for each additional fish) and was fully cycled before adding the fish, it’s probably just a little stressed from the journey.
Give it a few days and watch the fishes behaviour closely. If you don’t already have one, get yourself a decent water test kit to keep an eye on your water quality.
