Where are the best resorts/hotels in Bahamas for a honeymoon?

Hello everyone,

My fiance and I are getting married May 3rd 2008. We wanted to spend half of our honeymoon in the Bahamas for 4-7 nights (the other half will be in Miami). We know about Sandals, but are there other all-inclusive resorts to choose from?

We’re also looking into skipping the all-inclusive thing and just booking a hotel. Does going all-inclusive really save money?

I’m 28 and my fiance is 33, so we need something romantic with little to no children (including those under 21).

Also, when would you say is the best time to book? Thanks!!

I would go with Sandals. The very fact that they are couples only and all-inclusive is perfect for a honeymoon. It takes the guess work out of how much money do I need to bring, how much is dinner in a nice restaurant. You know up front what it will cost.

Dining in the Bahamas is not cheap.Specialty drinks are expensive, plus they automatically add 15% to all restaurant bills.

I would say if you enjoy cocktails and specialty drinks and a full course breakfast, lunch and dinner go all-inclusive. The tips are usually included. But we always tip a few dollars extra for very good service.

I’m traveling in May also and I’m booked now. I locked in a great airfare to the USVI with air miles. I would start checking air and resort prices and if you find a great price jump on it. They disappear fast. The good thing about May it’s not prime traveling time. It’s shoulder season. Prices are a bit cheaper.
